Coloured Safety Tread

Safety Step Edge

Safety strip Edging has been developed for a long term solution to help with the requirements as laid down by the Disability Discrimination Act Part 111 (DDA) and in particular, the sections relevant to the partially sighted.

The Act in essence, requires that all stairs, acceded by the public, should have a contrasting coloured nosing fitted to all step edges and in addition such nosing should provide a slip resistance surface.

Safety Strip Edging is a pre-formed fibre glass profile constructed by combining polyester resins with fibre reinforcements. With its feathered edge, Safety Strip Edge can be fitted to almost any step without creating a trip hazard.
